About the Job
The Beaufort-Delta Region administers all regional health and social services delivered through the Inuvik Regional Hospital (IRH), a 47 bed accredited facility, seven community health centres; and twenty-two other sites, including a public health clinic, an elders facility, social services and dental therapy offices, and various group homes. The Beaufort-Delta Region provides and supports the delivery of health care services to adults and children on an inpatient, outpatient and outreach basis in order to enhance health community's well-being through excellence, accountability and respect for regional
Located in Inuvik and reporting directly to the Manager of Health and Social Services the incumbent leads the delivery of chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, phlebotomy, specimen receiving/processing services, and water testing through two Laboratory Technologists within the laboratory. In addition to leading and directing the deliveries of IRH laboratory services the incumbent will deliver direct services (i.e. hands on testing) and conduct analysis of samples as operational requirements demand.

This level of knowledge is typically acquired through the successful completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology Program at a degree level, five years of directly related Core Laboratory experience.
Eligible for current certification with the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences as a Medical Laboratory Technologist is mandatory for this position.

The salary for this position starts at $42.75 per hour (approximately $83,362. per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance.
