Limited Competition

This job opening is limited to residents living within 25 kilometres of Inuvik.

Job Information

This position is located in the Inuvik Regional Hospital (IRH), a 51 in-patient bed accredited facility. The Unit Clerk, in collaboration with health care professionals and others will facilitate the process for the delivery of client care. The incumbent is responsible to coordinate and implement activities related to the unit and will be in frequent contact with nurses, physicians, patients, all departments and staff, the Community Health Centres and members of the general public, including clients and families, to provide efficient and effective service with minimal supervision. Clerical assistance provided by the Unit Clerk will facilitate the proper communication and management of client services, as well as more efficient use of physician/nurse time. The Unit Clerk reports directly to the Regional Manager, Acute Care.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

The completion of a grade 12 education, with at least 1 year office/administrative experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Completion of a medical terminology course is an asset.

This job opening is for a One Year Term.

Immunization Status

The successful candidate will be required to obtain proof of current up-to-date immunization status.


Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Salary Information

The salary for this position starts at $31.16 per hour (approximately $60,762.00 per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance.
