About the Job

Job Information

This position is located in the Inuvik Regional Hospital, serving the town of Inuvik; 7 outlying communities serviced by the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) and the 5 Sahtu Region communities. The Inuvik Regional Hospital (IRH) is a 22 bed acute care and 25 beds LTC accredited facility. There are approximately 10,000 residents in the Sahtu and BeaufortDelta regions. The NTHSSA provides and supports the delivery of health care services to adults and children on an inpatient, outpatient and outreach basis in order to enhance healthy communities and well-being through excellence, accountability and respect for regional diversity.

Reporting to the Manager of Rehabilitation and Health Promotion, the incumbent plays an important leadership role in primary care and health promotion for the NTHSSA. The Regional Dietitian works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams in partnership with community members to deliver nutrition and nutrition related programs based on identified needs and priority setting.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian with a provincial dietetic regulatory body and be in good standing
  • One year recent experience in acute or ambulatory care setting
  • One year recent experience in program development, training and delivery
  • Must be competent to provide enteral nutrition services

This job opening is for a 1 Year Term to March 25, 2019.

Immunization Status

The successful candidate will be required to obtain proof of current up-to-date immunization status.


Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.


Salary Information

The salary for this position starts at $44.75 per hour plus an annual Northern Allowance.
