The Quality Management Specialist (QMS) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating a comprehensive patient safety and quality improvement plan for quality client/patient care including leading quality improvement initiatives and supporting the Regional and Territorial accreditation programming. The QMS will support, facilitate, or lead Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) quality initiatives in conjunction with multiple stakeholders, in order to enhance client/patient care. This role, in collaboration with numerous key stakeholders, will facilitate and support continuous quality improvement (CQI) within all program areas within the health and social services system as a whole and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with National Standards, Government of the Northwest Territories' (GNWT) legislation and regulations, and the Department of Health and Social Services' (DHSS) legislation and policies, and NTHSSA policies and procedures.
Located in Yellowknife, the QMS – Central , serving the Yellowknife Region and Stanton Hospital, and providing support to other regions as required, reports to the Territorial Manager, Quality and Best Practice and works closely with Regional COOs. There are two QMSs providing services to the Yellowknife Region, Stanton, and various regions and/or Health and Social Services Authorities as required.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Bachelor's Degree in a health and social services discipline, business, organizational management or a law degree.
A minimum of three (3) years work-related experience in a health, or social services discipline is required.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
The salary range for this position is from $44.75 per hour to $53.44 per hour (approximately $87,263.00 to $104,208.00 annually) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,450.00.
