Job Information

Located in Behchoko, the Community Social Services Worker (CSSW) III is responsible for providing community based social services to identified groups, individuals and families within applicable legislation, to protect and improve their social well-being and functioning.  The CSSW III works within the contest of the vision and principles of the Tlicho Community Services Agency and in accordance with the code of Ethics for Social Workers and the Social Work Profession Act.

The CSSW Ill works with representatives from a number of agencies, including but not limited to the RCMP, Health Centre, Public Health, Home Care, Individual and Family Counselors, Housing, Education, Culture and Employment and Tlicho Government Staff.  The CSSW III must develop a positive relationship with all these resources to provide optimum support to the children and families with whom they work.  The CSSW III must nurture/foster a positive relationship among the people s/he serves

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by a Master’s in Social Work combined with one year of related social work experience; a Bachelor's degree in Social Work with three years of direct, relevant experience in social work; or a Diploma in Social Work combined with five years of related social work experience, which would include one year experience in a cross-cultural setting preferably, in the Northwest Territories.  The incumbent must be eligible to be licensed or registered under the Social Work Profession Act.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

 

Salary Information

The salary range for this position is from $42.75 per hour to $51.03 per hour (approximately $83,362.50 - $99,508.50.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $5,158.
