This job opening is limited to residents living within 25 kilometres of Fort Smith.
The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) provides the residents of the Northwest Territories with access to quality programs, services and support to assist them in making informed and productive choices for themselves and their families with regard to education, training, careers, employment and labour, child development, languages, culture and heritage.
Located in Fort smith and reporting to the Regional Superintendent, the Regional Administrative Coordinator provides reception, secretarial and administrative support to the South Slave Regional Service Centres. This is a senior secretarial position, which provides significant secretarial support such as typing correspondence, reports, contribution agreements and contacts, preparing presentations and e Binders for the Superintendent and the four (4) program managers located in Hay River and Fort Smith. Other administrative support duties include making travel arrangements, updating reports in spreadsheets, word and data base documents. This position maintains the Service Centres' central administrative filing, DIIMS, and record management systems.
Applicants should possess senior secretarial skills including advanced computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, desk top publishing and presentations. Good oral and written communication skills as well as excellent organizational skills are required. Good time management and active listening skills are also required.
Typically the knowledge, skills and abilities are normally aquired through completion of a recognized two year Diploma program in Office Administration or Secretarial Arts and five (5) years directly related secretarial and administrative coordination experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
The salary for this position starts at $31.16 per hour (approximately $60,762.00 per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $6,167.00.
