The mandate of the Department of Lands is to manage, administer and plan for the sustainable use of public land in the Northwest Territories in a fair and transparent manner that reflects the interests of the people of the Northwest Territories. The Department of Lands operates within the central belief that land management and administration is a core public good and critical asset that needs to be effectively and efficiently managed.
The Senior Strategic Planning, Reporting & Evaluation Analyst is located in Yellowknife and reports to the Manager of Strategic Planning, Reporting & Evaluation. The Senior Strategic Planner provides advice in the development, review, and implementation of Business Plans, HR Plans, operating policies, and identification, assessment, and mitigation of risk associated with departmental activities, as well as mandate reporting. The incumbent's advice and analysis plays a key role in setting direction for departmental actions and furthering the strategic goals and priorities of the Department of Lands and the GNWT.
The Senior Strategic Planning, Reporting & Evaluation Analyst participates in the harmonization of policies, standards, procedures, and legislation related to the management and administration of Commissioner's Lands under the Commissioner's Land Act and Regulations and Territorial Lands under the Territorial Lands Act and Regulations.
The incumbent will provide a duel role in the Policy, Legislation and Communications Division, reporting for four months to the Manager of Strategic Planning and Reporting, and for the remainder of the year having duties assigned by the Manager of Policy.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Completion of a bachelor's degree in business management, public administration, economics or a related field, along with at least five years of broad professional experience in economic development, policy development, business and strategic planning, and interdisciplinary research.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
The salary range for this position is from $49.02 to $58.53 per hour plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,450.00.
