The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority –Stanton Territorial Hospital (NTHSSA) is offering challenging nursing work and work life balance. Join our health care team as a Registered Nurse (RN). Stanton Territorial Hospital (STH) is a 100 in-patient bed accredited facility, located in Yellowknife Northwest Territories (NWT). STH is the referral center for approximately 43,000 NWT residents and 5,900 residents from the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. STH provides health care services to adults and children on an inpatient/outpatient and outreach basis in order to restore health with dignity. STH maintains a tobacco free environment within the building and throughout the property, recognizing the health hazards associated with tobacco in the workplace, both to smokers and non-smokers alike. Therefore, Stanton maintains a tobacco free environment within the building and throughout the property.
The Relief Emergency Medical Coordinator, Med-Response is responsible for providing clinical care (directly and indirectly), triaging anytime and coordinating advice from various sources through a single emergency medical and support dispatch service (virtual advice, assessment and referral centre) for every community in the Northwest Territories (NWT) to ensure that the service provided is effective, efficient, and of the highest standard.
The Relief Emergency Medical Coordinator, Med-Response is located in Yellowknife and reports directly to the Territorial Emergency Medical Supervisor, Med-Response. This position will be the primary coordinator of emergency medical evacuation services including air ambulance triage, air ambulance coordination, dispatch services, and repatriation services. Additionally, this position will help coordinate practitioner-to-practitioner virtual advice services including providing clinical advice in emergency situations and facilitating consultation with physicians and/or specialists in the NWT or elsewhere.
The Relief Emergency Medical Coordinator, Med-Response provides clinical advice and support, continuing medical management as necessary and assessment in emergency situations; and facilitates consultations with physicians and/or specialists in the NWT or elsewhere.
The Relief Emergency Medical Coordinator, Med-Response liaises with the Territorial Emergency Medical Supervisor, Med-Response, when required, or the designated clinical lead that may be available on site or via telephone or virtual services. This Registered Nurse position follows clinical dispatch, patient care, and transport protocols for all Med-Response services.

This level of knowledge is commonly acquired through the successful completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing with three years of Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Paramedic, or NWT Community Health Centre.
This job opening is for a Relief position where there are no established hours of work on a daily, weekly or monthly basis and may be required to report to work on an as and when required basis for facilities where services operate on a daily basis throughout the entire year.
Eligible for current registration with The Registered Nurses Association of the Northwest Territories/Nunavut, registrations mandatory for this position. .

The salary range for this position is from $44.75 per hour to $53.44 per hour (approximately $87,263 - $104,208.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,450.
