About the Job

Job Information

Reporting to the Manager, Information Systems and Technology Services, the Computer Technician is responsible for providing technical support  for computer programs and network maintenance in South Slave educational facilities.

Completion of a two-year Computer or Information Systems diploma or certification program is the minimum educational requirement.  The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credential is preferred.  The incumbent must have proven application experience and systems analyst skills.  Equivalencies will be considered.  A Bachelor of Education and/or two (2) years experience working in schools/school boards would be an asset.  The responsibilities of this position require the imcumbent to work independently with minimal supervision.  The incumbent should have the ability to conceptualize , plan and effectively implement a change initiative throughout the organization.  They should also have the ability to listen,  understand and respond effectively to other people, and to help or serve people to meet their needs.

The incumbent in this position will be required to travel by car and on small planes.

Driver's License Requirement

A mandatory requirement for this position is a valid Class 5 Driver's License.


Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.


Salary Information

The salary for this position starts at $40.85  per hour (approximately $79,657.50 per annum) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $5,792.
