We invite you to experience the natural beauty of the Northwest Territories while working as a Registered Nurse! Short-term casual contracts ranging from four to eight weeks in length are available in a number of our northern communities.
The Northwest Territories has an integrated health and social services system that provides patient focused care in a local health centre or where necessary in the nearest facility.
There are eight Health and Social Services regions that manage and deliver community and facility-based services for health care for 44,000 citizens throughout the Northwest Territories.
Hospital nurses practice in one of three facilities located in the Northwest Territories: Inuvik Regional Hospital, Fort Smith Health Centre and Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife.
Within the Northwest Territories nurses must be eligible for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (RNANT/NU). For more information on Nursing Licensing in the NWT please visit: www.rnantnu.ca.
To be successful in this position, one would typically possess a degree in nursing and a minimum of 2 years relevant and recent nursing experience. The successful candidate will be required to obtain proof of current up-to-date immunization status.
The salary range for casual nursing positions starts at $38.25 and tops out at $53.44 per hour, depending on the type of nursing. In addition you will receive a prorated annual Northern Allowance from $3,450 to $32,077 depending on the community of employment.
Eligibility lists may be created from this competition to fill future term and indeterminate positions.
